MONOCHROMEN - ABSTRACTE COLLAGES
Met deze serie neemt ze haar werk een stap verder om dichter bij de intrinsieke waarde te komen. Ze zoekt naar meer verdieping, naar een zuivere presentatie van een gevoelsbeleving, naar de verinnerlijking.

Dit vergt een rigoureuze aanpak. Ze laat haar gewaardeerde kleurpallet los en legt de focus op het nieuwe basis ingrediënt: zwart, in combinatie met de benodigde steunkleur. Het gaat om het contrast, het spel tussen licht en donker, en om de kleurwaarden die hiertussen liggen. In deze gradaties, daar ligt de toegevoegde waarde.

In deze serie is de gelaagdheid van een nog groter belang. In kleur, in vorm en in opbouw. Het is een spel van opbouw en afbraak, welke zich steeds weer opvolgen, totdat uiteindelijk een symbiotische samensmelting is ontstaan. 3D aspecten treden steeds meer naar de voorgrond, en een bulk aan nieuwe materialen en technieken worden onderzocht en toegepast. Lim A Po werkt in deze serie met diverse materialen, zoals linnen, papier, aluminium en messing.

With this series she takes her work a step further to get closer to its intrinsic value. She is looking for more depth, for a pure presentation of an emotional experience, for internalization.

This requires a rigorous approach. She lets go of her valued color palette and focuses on the new basic ingredient: black, and the required supporting color. It is about the contrast, the interplay between light and dark, and the color values that lies in between. In these gradations, that is where the added value lies.

In addition, the layering increases. Layering is of an even greater importance in this series. In color, in shape and in construction. It is a game of construction and breakdown, which is always in succession, until finally a symbiotic amalgamation has arisen. 3D aspects are increasingly coming to the fore. And a bulk of new materials and techniques are researched and applied. Lim A Po works on various materials, such as linen, paper, aluminum and brass.
