SCAPES
Textielontwerp speelt al jaren door het hoofd van Lim A Po. Het is de tactiliteit, de textuur en de diversiteit in toepassing, wat haar hierin aanspreekt. Haar fascinatie voor het ambacht ziet ze hierin ook terug.
De serie Scapes bestaat uit zowel textiele wandkleden en wandobjecten, als schilderijen met oliekrijt. De werken zijn ongedefinieerd en geabstraheerd, tegelijkertijd een gevoelsmatige link naar natuurpracht en dromerige taferelen.
Het concept van transitie staat in deze serie centraal: de overgang van texturen en structuren, en de visuele effecten die deze veranderingen als gevolg hebben. Net als in Lim A Po’s andere werk draait het bij deze serie ook om de gelaagdheid. Het is een spel van voortdurende op- en afbouw, waarbij vorm, beweging, lijnspel, detail en textuur essentieel zijn. Contrasterende materialen versmelten, en subtiele kleurenpaletten creëren harmonie.
Waar Lim A Po’s vorige werken voorheen vooral gebonden waren aan het platte oppervlak, is de driedimensionaliteit in de serie Scapes nu letterlijk en tastbaar. Bij sommige werken kunnen we onze hand door de vezels van het textiel laten glijden; andere werken verleiden om de gordijnen van de hangende draden opzij te schuiven en dikke lagen verf en textuur te ontdekken.

SCAPES
Textile design has been Lim A Po’s mind for years. The tactility, texture, and diversity in application appeal to her. Her fascination for the craft is also reflected in this.
The series Scapes consists of textile tapestries and wall objects, as well as paintings with oil crayon. The works are undefined and abstracted, with an emotional link to natural beauty and dreamy scenes at the same time.
Central to these works is the concept of transition: of textures and structures, and the visual effects that result from these changes. As in Lim A Po's other work, this series is about layering. The works play with continuous adding and removing, in which form, movement, line play, detail and texture are essential. Contrasting materials merge, and subtle colour palettes create harmony.
Whereas Lim A Po's previous works were previously mainly bound to the flat surface, the three-dimensionality in the Scapes series is now literal and tangible. In some works, we can run our hand through the fibers of the textile; other works entice us to push the curtains of the hanging threads aside, to discover thick layers of paint and texture.

Arcadia is een wandkleed vervaardigd met schapenwol, Eucalyptus en Mohair, welke toegepast in diverse hoogtes, gemêleerde kleuropzet, meerdere pools en snijtechnieken. Daarbij kent het object bijzondere accenten, zoals de fringes, het vlechtwerk aan de zijkanten van het kunstwerk en het gebruik van 23 karaat goud.

Arcadia is a tapestry made with sheep's wool, Eucalyptus and Mohair, which is applied in various heights, mixed color design, multiple pools and cutting techniques. In addition, the object has special accents, such as the fringes, braidings on the sides of the artwork and the use of 23 carat gold.

ARCADIA
Het grote wandkleed Arcadia is een collage van verschillende materialen en de diverse toepassingen hiervan. Lim A Po plaatst het textiel in de context van een leeg canvas: de vlakken, die naast elkaar, en ook over elkaar zijn geassembleerd, komen samen tot een speelse doch harmonieuze compositie. Het vormt een soort landschap, refererend naar het utopisch land Arcadia, en tegelijkertijd is het een abstracte beeltenis. Op het kleed speelt zich een spel af van onverwachte, verrassende combinaties. Een samengaan van zichtbaar en verscholen, horizontaal en verticaal. Daarbij is het een rijk samengaan van materiaal en techniek: getuft, geknoopt of gedrapeerd.

ARCADIA
The large tapestry Arcadia is a collage of different materials and their various applications. Lim A Po treats the textile as an empty canvas: the surfaces, which are assembled next to each other and on top of each other, come together to form a playful yet harmonious composition. It forms a kind of landscape, referring to the utopian land of Arcadia, while at the same time creates an abstract image. Unexpected, surprising combinations playfully come together on the rug. A combination of visible and hidden, horizontal and vertical. Arcadia is a rich combination of material and technique: tufted, knotted or draped.
